CHIEF OYEMOLU OLUGBENGA AKINSULIRE

President & Trustee

Oye Akinsulire holds BSc (Hons.) in Accounting from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye after graduating from Yaba College of Technology. Additionally, he holds MSc in Accounting from the University of Lagos (Unilag) as well as Ph.D in Accounting from Babcock University, llishan-Remo, Ogun State. 

Oye is a pioneer member of this Association and served as its first Treasurer till 2021 when he was elected as the President.

Chief Akinsulire is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) (NIM).

He had extensive banking experience at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and First Bank of Nigeria Plc before retiring into private business. He is the Managing Consultant of Oye Akinsulire & Associates (Financial Management, Taxation and Management Consultants).

ITUNU OMOTAYO

Vice President

Upon graduation from Yaba College of Technology’s Accountancy Department in 1986,  Mrs. Itunu Omotayo (nee Osinaike), studied Information Technology (IT) at University of Lagos.  

In pursuit of greener pastures, she went to the United Kingdom. She attended South Bank University London, for further IT training to improve her skills. She subsequently worked with Tesco supermarkets for some years before joining a real estate firm where she developed her passion for real estate business.

After three years with the real estate firm, she joined Blizz Group of companies where she held various management positions in charge of different aspect of the business. She became the General Manager of the Group responsible for managing the overall business operations. She worked for Blizz for 17 years before venturing into her own real estate investment business.

Itunu Omotayo is the Director of Blossom Consultancy Limited and Hairglo Limited, two successful businesses based in the United Kingdom. She is a devoted Christian; a philanthropist and an active member of several social-cultural associations where she generously gives her time, talent, and resources to help others. 

FLORENCE ADENE, FCA, MBA

Trustee and Ex-Officio Member

Florence Adene  is a pioneering member of the Association and served as its first General Secretary. After graduating from Yaba College of Technology, she joined SCOA Nigeria Plc in 1989 as an assistant accountant. She oversaw important responsibilities in the finance function of the company and rose to the position of Chief Accountant. She left the company in year 2000 to pursue other opportunities.

Her professional exploits took her to various industries where she served at senior finance positions including as Vice President Finance with Arik Air Limited, Consultant CFO  with Andersen Tax and Finance Director with Green Africa Airways.

Florence is the convener of FIG Fearlessly Indomitable Group, a group against suicide and suicidal tendencies and a partner volunteer with Belleful Naija with Eromz, a free food, clothing, and career support family initiative for youth.

She is a pastor with High Tower Covenant Church, Lagos and happily married to Pastor Peter Adene, who is the Senior Pastor of the Church.

She is a Fellow of ICAN and an Executive MBA graduate of University of Lagos. In support of her pastoral work, she holds a Diploma in Theology from Life Theological Seminary.

Florence enjoys listening to gospel music; comedy and volunteer / grand children time out.

JOSEPH ASEBIODE, MBA, CPA

General Secretary

Joseph started his accounting career in 1987 at Inlaks Plc, a member of  Inlaks Group Nigeria. He worked in this Group until 2001 when he relocated to Canada having served in various finance and management positions at several companies within the Group.

In Canada, he worked as a tax auditor with Canada Revenue Agency for four years before moving back to the private sector. He is currently a senior finance officer of a large Canadian energy company where he oversees business units’ performance reporting and analysis; continuous improvements and benchmarking; long range planning; asset retirement obligations; mine financial security programs; oil reserves valuations and impairment assessments.

He renders tax consulting and wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals in his private consulting business.

Taking advantage of his solid accounting education at Yaba College of Technology, Joseph successfully completed the professional accounting designation examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 1986; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2002 and Ontario Institute of Certified General Accountants in 2004. He holds an MBA degree from Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada.

Joseph enjoys listening to music, reading fictional books as well as coaching and mentoring upcoming professionals.

MRS ADESUMBO IDIAT ABOLARIN, MBA, FCA

Treasurer

Upon graduation from the accountancy department of Yaba College of Technology in 1986, Ms. Abolarin started her professional journey as an audit trainee at A.B Adepeju & Co., a firm of Chartered Accountants in Lagos where she rose to the position of Senior Audit Manager.

She joined the service of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission as a Finance Officer in December 1994. Her work experience traversed various Local Governments of the State in different capacities. She worked as an Internal Auditor at Mushin Local Government; as Area Treasurer at Apapa and Eti Osa Local Governments respectively and as Internal Auditor and Council Treasurer at Ifako Ijaye Local Government. Her wealth of experience, dedication, excellent performances, and professional reputation earned her series of promotions in the service, leading to her rise to the position of Chief Accountant in 2004.

Mrs. Abolarin moved to the Office of the Auditor General for Local Governments in April 2006. From then to 2018, she held senior level positions such as Director of Accounts; Director of Service Charter; Director of Pension Directorate and Director Project Inspection and Inter-Governmental Relations.

Mrs. Abolarin was appointed the Substantive Auditor-General for Local Governments by the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in March 2018, the position she occupied till her retirement in 2021.

DAVID OLADELE AWE, CPA, MBA

Public Relations Officer (PRO)

A Certified Public Accountant and member of Texas Board of CPAs, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Tax Professionals, Dele was at various times a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Bankers, Chartered Institute of Management and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. His over 35 years of professional experience which started in KPMG in 1987 spans various industries and three continents. Before relocating from Nigeria in 1997, Dele spent over 10 years in the financial industry and ended his career in Nigeria as the Managing Director of a stock broking firm in Victoria Island.

After a stint in Sydney, Australia, Dele started his CPA practice – David O. Awe, CPA, and its Consulting arm A. A. Associates LLC in 2002, following his movement to the USA in year 2000. For 20 years, the companies have helped to overhaul and streamline the internal control, accounting, tax, compliance and payroll systems of several businesses and church denominations in the United State and Canada including the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Christ Embassy, and Omega Fire Ministries. He is a consultant to several other churches and has traversed most states of the US and Canada, training ministry leaders and church workers. As a tax practitioner and business consultant, his firms have incorporated hundred of companies and represented businesses and individuals in IRS audit for most of the last two decades, saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process.

CHIEF CHIJIOKE JOSEPH IKPA , MBA, FCA

Assistant General Secretary

Chief Joseph Ikpa is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and a Member of the Nigeran Institute of Management. He holds an MBA degree from Ambrose Ali University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism.

Chief Ikpa worked for decades with National Youth Service Corps before retiring. While at NYSC, he held senior management positions such as Head, Final Accounts/Records; Head, Funds Section; Head of Accounts for various State Secretariats and Departmental Secretary for Ad-hoc and Special Committees. He is currently involved in real estate business at Abuja.

On the social landscape, Chief Ikpa is widely engaged in various social groups. He is a member of the Igwe Traditional Council, Nkpologu where he is deeply involved in promoting the well-being of his people. He is an ardent peace maker, hence the traditional title of UDO-MBA meaning Peace of the Community. He is also the Patron of Uzo-Uwani Professionals Association.

Chief Ikpa is a family-oriented person and loves classical and traditional music with deep interest in spiritual, philosophical, and mystical affairs. He is investing in future generations through continuous sponsorship of youths in their academic and occupational pursuits.
